NOVEMBER 4, 2006                          FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE!!!!! TOWPORLD LEADS FINALLY RECAST!

ABBY STEWART (L)  JERALD GARNER (R)

T E K  PRODUCTIONS is pleased to announce that the coveted female lead role of "Eliyso" has finally been recast.

Appearing opposite actor JERALD GARNER  will be newcomer ABBY STEWART .

According to Topworld's writer, producer and director KEVIN M. KRAFT , the process of recasting the role of the subterranean runaway slave girl was a difficult task. "Oh, it was agonizing! When we lost Kathy Shao-lin Lee, it was difficult to imagine anyone else in the role. The only thing I could do was totally re-imagine Ellie."

Topworld was originally written for actress ALEXA VEGA (Spy Kids, Sleepover). Eventually, the character of Ellie would be decidedly Asian, which is when Kraft found actress Lee. "[Kathy] was exactly how I imagined Ellie! I was devastated when we lost her."

Kraft considered many actresses, deciding to open up the role to a variety of races, with "exotic" being a must. He even approached Alexa Vega with the project a second time, and accepted audition tapes from several other  actresses, including accomplished model Abby Stewart.

"Abby's tape stood out to me. There was a lot about Abby herself that was a lot like Eliyso." What was even more intriguing is the fact that Abby is of Native American, which lends itself well to Topworld's "hollow earth" premise. "Native American lore is replete with references to inworld dwellers," Kraft said. "So having a Native American is entirely appropriate. Plus, it'll give us a chance to include some really interesting cultural devices where the character is concerned."

As to the prospect of working with Abby, Kraft is thrilled. "Just becoming acquainted with her, I find Abby to be bright, beautiful and adventurous. She's perfect, I believe, to assume the female lead in our movie. I think people will be very surprised at how good she is."

T E K  Productions hopes to begin principal photography for Topworld in autumn of 2007.
